Marta has spent nearly her entire life in the veterinary world, building a career rooted in
compassion, leadership, education, and a deep commitment to exceptional veterinary
care. Straight out of high school, she attended veterinary technician school and began
her career as a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT). Her passion for the profession
and natural leadership abilities quickly led her from technician leadership into hospital
management.
Throughout her career, Marta has embraced new challenges and continues to learn
something new every day. Having worked in virtually every area of a veterinary hospital,
she brings a comprehensive understanding of how each department contributes to the
success of the entire practice. Her greatest passion is building, empowering, and
developing strong teams that work together to provide outstanding patient care and
guide clients through their pets’ health care journeys. She believes that a strong hospital
culture is built on training, shared core values, teamwork, and, of course, having fun
along the way.
Marta’s dedication to the veterinary profession extends well beyond the hospital. She is
a two-time past president and former newsletter editor of the Colorado Association of
Certified Veterinary Technicians (CACVT) and remains actively involved in the
organization. She is also a graduate of the prestigious leadership programs offered
through the Colorado Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA) and Veterinary
Management Groups (VMG). One of her proudest professional accomplishments is
earning the highly respected Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM) credential,
recognizing her commitment to excellence in veterinary practice management.
In addition to her hospital leadership role, Marta owns K9 Fit Club, an exercise program
designed to keep dogs active and engaged. Clients can request this service for their
dogs while staying at Purrs and Paws Lodge or schedule an appointment for a
dedicated fitness session.
Marta’s biggest adventure to date has been becoming a partner at West Ridge Animal
Hospital. Having known and worked alongside Dr. Combs and Dr. Hubert for more than
35 years, she shares a deep appreciation for their philosophy of veterinary care and the
important role the hospital plays in its community. She is proud to continue the legacy
they have built and is committed to upholding the high standards of care, service, and
community connection that she has learned from them throughout the years.
Outside the hospital, Marta is blessed with two wonderful children, her son, Daulton,
and her daughter, Jordyn. When she isn't working, she enjoys spending time
outdoors—preferably when the weather is warm! Her favorite activities include camping,
fishing, walking, hiking, horseback riding, admiring classic cars, and working around her

five-acre property. She also loves interior design and giving furniture a second life
through refurbishing and creative projects.
Of course, a lifelong career in veterinary medicine means Marta has accumulated a few
furry family members along the way! Her current four-legged crew includes Kovu, her
Doberman; Eros, her Husky; Obie, her big, lovable orange cat; and Sissy Van-
Flufferstien, affectionately known as Fluff, her sassy tortoiseshell cat.
Between her two-legged and four-legged kids, her leadership responsibilities, and her
many interests, Marta certainly stays busy! At the heart of everything she does is a
genuine love for people, animals, and the veterinary profession. She is excited to
continue building strong teams, supporting the West Ridge Animal Hospital community,
and helping create an environment where employees, clients, and their beloved pets
can thrive.

Nikki is a Colorado native. 

She has always loved animals and has been at West Ridge for over 20 years. She is a mom of two beautiful kiddos and 1 large furry pup. 

She studied to be a Vet Tech at Colorado Mountain College in Glenwood Springs and received her CVT
& AAS.  She then began at AIMS and received her AS, and transferred to CSU where she completed her BS. 

She has also completed her massage certification for animals. 

Leigh moved to Colorado from Australia.  She loves all animals, especially spending time with her horses.

I’ve lived in Greeley, CO my entire life. I graduated from Aims Community College with an Associate of Arts degree in 2014. I transferred to Colorado State University shortly after and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology in 2018. I've always had a passion for animals and their well-being. I love working in customer service and getting to know clients and pets personally! I strive to live life with a positive outlook and I am so grateful to be a part of a caring, loving workplace.

Alex comes to us with 15 years of executive IT administrative experience. For the last 8 years, Alex has been working with small businesses and non-profit groups to help establish their online presence, IT support, and training,  as well as serving as president of an animal rescue auxiliary group.
