Dr. Jheanine Castañeda
Dr. Jheanine Castañeda is a Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine graduate. She was born in Cali, Colombia and Spanish is her first language. She also speaks English fluently, as well as some Italian and ASL. She lived in Cali until the age of 4 and then moved to Miami, FL. Dr. Castañeda knew she wanted to become a veterinarian as a child and has always planned her life with that goal in mind.
During her Highschool years Dr. Castañeda began working for Safari Edventure, a small non-for-profit zoo. She educated children and their parents on zoology, biology, husbandry and care of over 120 different exotic species and continued to work there until she began Veterinary School. Some of these species include bearded dragons, turtles, rabbits, ferrets, sloths and kangaroos. She has raised many wolves, birds, foxes, and a few anteaters. She has a passion for exotics and is starting to gain experience in the field of exotic medicine and critical care. She also has a special interest in dentistry, fear-free visits, rehab, nutrition and holistic medicine.
Dr. Castañeda recently moved to Colorado and lives in Firestone with her boyfriend who is also a veterinarian. She has two dogs that she loves too much: Scarlatti a 10-year-old Rat terrier cross, and Lexington a 10-year-old Pembroke Welsh Corgi. She enjoys hiking, baking, playing instruments, and visiting Colombia.
