West Ridge Animal Hospital offers a wide range of services including:

URGENT/EMERGENCY CARE
Urgent or emergency care is an important aspect of any veterinary practice, and West Ridge has been a leader in emergency vet care since we opened in 1968. Our experienced, dedicated staff is second to none in providing emergency medical services. Unfortunately, accidents don't just happen during "veterinarian's hours". When an accident happens and your companion needs immediate medical attention, your companion's health can not wait. With that in mind, West Ridge Animal Hospital will remain open 'til 9 PM during the week, be open from 8-5 on Saturdays and 9-1 on Sundays to provide urgent/emergency care services to the pets of Greeley, well after regular "veterinarian's hours". Of course, we will continue to offer our great regular services during our extended hours too. We know you don't keep "veterinarian's hours" either.
BIRDS, REPTILES, RABBITS AND SMALL MAMMALS
Veterinary medicine for exotic pets is growing as the popularity of these animals increases. With better public education in health, nutritional and environmental management, all species have a greater chance for living longer and healthier lives. We employ staff veterinarians who possess experience in the care and treatment of exotics.
SURGERY
We offer the most advanced surgical techniques and technology. All patients are carefully screened for safety, and anesthetics are specifically tailored to your pet. Surgical services and facilities include: board certified surgeon available for consultation; fully trained veterinary and technical staff to ensure the safest, most efficient, state-of-the-art procedures for your pet; heated surgery tables for greater comfort; advanced sterilization techniques; ECG and oxygen saturation monitors; intensive after surgery care and full blood testing.
DIGITAL RADIOLOGY
Radiology - or X-rays - help our veterinarians evaluate muscular-skeletal, cardiovascular (cardiopulmonary), gastrointestinal, reproductive and urinary systems. We have the latest in digital radiology technology. Bring a CD-R along with you on your visit and we will gladly burn a disk of your companion's x-rays.
ULTRASOUND
This non-invasive, state-of-the-art technology uses sound waves to painlessly examine specific internal organs, primarily the heart and abdominal organs. Pregnancy exams are also available.
LABORATORY
Our full service in-house laboratory gives us rapid diagnostics for many common diseases.
FULLY STOCKED PHARMACY
We stock a wide range of the best veterinary drugs in the animal healthcare field.
NUTRITIONAL COUNSELING
Some pets require special food, and all pets benefit from a balanced diet. Our trained and certified staff is available to help you choose the right diet for your pet to keep him or her happy, healthy and active.
BLOOD TRANSFUSION
We have access to a supply of blood for all types of pets in case of emergency. The blood is collected from donor pets that live with their owners, and all blood is carefully screened for disease.
BOARDING
Pets are like our children - we feed, nurture and lavish attention on them. Our highly qualified kennel attendants do the same when you can't be there. We provide tender loving care (such as brushing and cuddling), and supervised outdoor playtime to keep them happy and active.

REHABILITATION SERVICES
The emerging collaboration between the professions of veterinary medicine and physical therapy is an important advancement in the quality of care which can be provided to our canine clients. Upon veterinarian referral, the physical therapist utilizes rehabilitation principles and techniques (heat/cold/light modalities, therapeutic exercise, massage, aquatic therapy, owner education, and other activities) to improve the function, comfort and quality of life for our arthritic, deconditioned, post injury, postoperative, or neurologically-involved dogs. Performance enhancement services are available for show and working dogs.
LAPAROSCOPY
High-tech fiber optics permit direct visual examination of your pet's internal organs and joints without the need for a large surgical incision. This allows for more accurate diagnosis and treatment of various diseases and disorders with the added benefit of shorter healing times.
ENDOSCOPY
High-tech fiber optics permits direct visual examination and biopsies of your pet's gastrointestinal system. This allows for more accurate diagnosis and treatment of oral, esophageal, stomach, colon and even upper intestinal tract disease. Foreign objects can also be removed without the need for surgery.
DENTAL CARE
Regular professional cleaning is important to maintaining your pet's teeth. We use modern and safe ultrasound to clean each tooth thoroughly - above and below the gum line. Dental technicians polish teeth to create a smooth, lustrous tooth surface more resistant to plaque buildup. Advanced dental care is available, including root canals, caps and braces.
INTERNAL MEDICINE
We cover all areas of internal medicine, including: Cardiology; Ophthalmology; Neurology; Dermatology; Gastroenterology; Orthopedic surgery; Oncology; Endocrinology; among others.
IMMUNIZATION AND WELLNESS CARE
We strive to prevent illness whenever possible. The time and effort invested in Wellness programs has rewards for both pets and owners. Our Wellness programs are designed specifically for your pet and include: Comprehensive physical exam; internal parasite testing; heartworm and flea control; vaccination program; spay and neuter package; and specialized blood tests for all life stages.

BATHING
Treat your pet to a luxurious bath. Our special, cleansing baths remove dirt, debris and that doggie pet odor - your pet will feel fresh and revitalized. If scratching is a problem, our medicated baths contain soothing agents that stop the itching. Services also include nail trim and ear cleaning.
